This site has gone dark today in protest of the U.S. Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PROTECT-IP Act (PIPA). America's control over treaty organisations such as TPP and ACTA would allow the smooth transition of America's laws into our legislative system. If we don't combat this now, its introduction into our parliament could be just around the corner. The strong alliance Australia has with the United States allows them to pressure our legislators and SOPA or PIPA may appear, if passed by Congress, in Australia's own parliament.
